It usually changes on June 1 and December 1.
Yes. Your power stays on. PPL still delivers your electricity and sends your bill.
Only the price part of your bill changes.
You can go back to PPL's standard price later. Check your contract for a fee to leave early.
Call the company you pick, or sign up on its website. You don't call your utility.
Have your PPL bill ready. The company will ask for a number from it.
Look for your account number on the first page of your bill, in the box about shopping for electricity. It has 10 digits.
The new company tells PPL for you.
You have 3 business days to cancel for free after you get the new company's plan papers.
Weekends and holidays don't count.
To cancel, call the new company, write to them or cancel online.
The company must send you a first notice 45 to 60 days before your plan ends.
A second notice must come by mail at least 30 days before it ends.
