How we handle your information
We keep only what we need to check your electric price, and nothing that says who you are except your email.
What happens to the photo of your bill
We read your bill on our own computer. It is not sent to any other company. As soon as it has been read, the photo is deleted. We show you what we found, and we keep only the numbers you say are right.
What we never keep
- The photo or PDF of your bill
- Your name
- Your address
- Your account number with the electric company
- A password (you don't have one)
What we keep, and why
- Your email address
- To send your sign-in links and the emails you choose.
- Your electric company
- For example Ohio Edison, so we compare the right prices.
- The company that sets your price
- Empty if you pay your electric company's standard price.
- Your price, and whether it is locked
- So we can tell if another offer would cost less.
- When your contract ends, and any fee to cancel
- So we never tell you to switch when the fee would cost more than you save.
- How much electricity you use in a month
- One number (kWh on your bill), used to turn prices into dollars.
- The standard price printed on your bill
- To check it against the State of Ohio's list.
- Your past answers
- The last few answers we worked out for you.
- Whether your plan is on, and if you pay each month or each year
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
How signing in works
We email you a link that works once. There is no password that could be stolen, and no Google or Facebook sign-in that shares your information.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information and we don’t give it to electric companies. Stripe handles payments and our email service sends your emails. They get only what they need to do that. Judy Saves will never call you or knock on your door.
