Yes. Your power stays on. Ameren still delivers your electricity and sends your bill.
Only the price part of your bill changes.
You can go back to Ameren's standard price later. Check your contract for a fee to leave early.
Call the company you pick, or sign up on its website. You don't call your utility.
Have your Ameren bill ready. The company will ask for a number from it.
Look for your account number near the top of your bill. Ask the company which number it needs.
The new company tells Ameren for you.
You have 10 days to cancel for free after Ameren mails you a letter about the change.
If your plan starts again on its own, the company must mail you a separate notice 30 to 60 days before it ends.
A fixed price can't turn into a price that changes each month unless you say yes in writing.
